Many veterans, particularly those who’ve seen combat, struggle with symptoms of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental health conditions once they return home. It is not uncommon for these men and women to turn to drugs or alcohol as a way to cope with their symptoms. In fact, more than 20 percent of veterans with PTSD suffer from an addiction or dependence on drugs or alcohol

Evidence-based veterans addiction programs in Orange County

If a veteran you love is struggling with a drug or alcohol use problem, the skilled clinical team at Miramar Recovery offers Joint Commission-accredited facilities and veterans addiction programs to help them find the path of recovery. The Joint Commission is recognized as the indisputable gold standard of accreditation and certification for medical and behavioral healthcare providers across the United States.

Getting started with the veterans addiction program

When you choose Miramar Recovery to help your loved one, we’ll help guide the recovery process from the very first step. We’ll begin with a structured conversation built around the goal of persuading your loved one to get help. Together with friends, family and loved ones, a professional interventionist will guide the conversation and act as a catalyst for positive change.

Once your loved one agrees to get the help they need, they will undergo an addiction detox to safely remove the substance from their system. Next, depending on the severity of their addiction, we will recommend either an outpatient or inpatient (residential) treatment program. While our outpatient addiction treatment is a viable option for those who do not need 24-hour care and monitoring, our residential treatment program allows your loved one to get the care they need from therapists and addiction specialists exactly when they need it rather than waiting for an appointment.

Our veterans addiction program also offers a comprehensive, detailed continuing-care plan that is tailored to the unique needs of each client. We want everyone we treat to enjoy lasting recovery from their drug or alcohol addiction as well as their co-occurring mental health disorder.
