Mental Health & Addiction Programs for Veterans In Orange County

Our program at Miramar Health adapts the Whole Health Approach of the VA. Years of experience with veterans and active-duty military and their families have shown us that multiple unresolved and underlying issues typically cause addictive behavior, be they physical, emotional, or mental.

We comprehensively treat, in an integrated manner, these unresolved issues, deficiencies, imbalances, and/or other pathologies, thereby healing addictive behavior.

Detoxification and Withdrawal Management

The first step after deciding to seek help for addiction and start detox in California, is to safely remove the substance from your system. In most cases, this involves an uncomfortable, and sometimes dangerous, detox process. This is known as withdrawal management. Due to the complications that could arise, it’s important to undergo withdrawal while managed under the supervision of experts.

  • Detox lowers the risk of relapse
  • Depending on the substance involved and the severity of the addiction, this can take anywhere from 3 to 10 days

Residential Treatment

At Miramar Health, you’ll live in an inpatient facility (veterans’ rehab) with others under the guidance of our experienced staff of addictions rehabilitation professionals. This type of care allows you to get help immediately whenever you need it, rather than having to wait for an appointment. Residential treatment ensures that you’re under the supervision of therapists and addiction specialists.

  • Professionally supervised withdrawal management process
  • Therapy for emotional and mental support
  • Constant availability to tools and resources
  • Relapse prevention skills training and practice
  • Discharge planning

Alumni Aftercare and Transition Services

Our aftercare services support alumni clients’ recovery efforts after they complete residential treatment and help them transition back into their communities. During residential, clients will receive support to help create a personalized recovery plan for after treatment. This may include a blend of peer support services, virtual support, transition to a sober living home, or participating in outpatient therapies.

AA meetings for alumni are held virtually on a biweekly basis. Check-in calls and texts happen regularly.

Alumni activities include baseball games, bowling, beach events, etc. Alumni are invited back for an H & I (hospitals and institutions) program sponsored by AA which is like a private 12-step meeting.
